The Spreadsheet module gives you familiar, grid-style sheets right inside vFile — handy for quick lists, calculations and working notes without opening a separate program.
Creating & sharing a sheet #
Open vfile.app/sheets and start a new sheet. Enter data, use basic formulas, and share it with colleagues so a team works from the same numbers.
Worked example #
It is month-end and you want to check physical stock against the system before making corrections.
- You create a sheet called March Stock Count.
- You add columns: Product, System Qty, Counted Qty, Difference.
- A simple formula (Counted minus System) fills the Difference column automatically.
- Your storekeeper enters the counted numbers and the sheet shows where there is a shortfall.
- You then apply the real corrections in vFile using a Stock Adjustment.
What this affects #
- Nothing in your accounts or stock — a spreadsheet is a private working note. Typing here changes no product, ledger or report.
- To change stock after a count, record a Stock Adjustment.
Frequently asked questions #
Does editing a spreadsheet update my stock or accounts?
No. It is a scratch pad. Real changes are made through the proper screens (sales, purchases, adjustments).
Can my team see the same sheet?
Yes — share it with the colleagues who need it.
Should I keep my business figures in sheets?
For live, accurate figures use vFile’s reports; sheets are best for rough working.
