Signing in #
Open vfile.app in any browser and enter the username (or email) and password provided by your administrator. After a successful login you land on the Home / Dashboard.
Forgot your password? Use the Forgot password link on the login screen, or ask your administrator to reset it.
The dashboard at a glance #
The dashboard is your daily control room. Depending on your role you will see:
- Total sales, net and due amounts for the selected date range.
- Today’s profit — a quick performance indicator.
- Sales and purchase dues so you know what is outstanding.
- Stock alerts for items running low or expiring soon.
- Recent transactions and top-selling products.
Use the date range filter at the top to switch between today, this month, this year or a custom period.
Navigation #
- Left sidebar — every module (Contacts, Products, Sell, Purchases, Reports and more). Collapse it for more space.
- Quick Access — one-click shortcuts to the most common actions.
- Top bar — calculator, clock in/out, notifications and your profile menu.
Worked example #
You arrive at the shop and open vFile.
- On the dashboard you set the date filter to This Month and see sales of ₨1,250,000 with ₨310,000 still due.
- The stock alert panel flags that Corn AG 603 has dropped to 15 bags — below its alert level of 20 — so you note to reorder.
- You glance at today’s profit to gauge how the day is going.
- From Quick Access you tap Add Sale (POS) to serve the first customer.
What this affects #
- The dashboard is read-only — looking at it changes nothing. It simply summarises the data your sales, purchases and payments have already created.
- What you see depends on your role — for example, a cashier may not see profit figures.
Frequently asked questions #
Why do my figures look different from a colleague’s?
The dashboard respects permissions and the selected date range and location. Different roles see different panels, and different filters show different numbers.
The dashboard shows an old figure — why?
Check the date-range filter at the top; it may be set to a past period. Set it to Today or This Month to see current figures.
Can I change what appears on the dashboard?
The panels shown are controlled by your role and setup. If you need different access, ask your administrator or the TecniForge support team.
