Alerts that save money #
- Low-stock — items at or below their alert quantity, so you reorder in time.
- Expiry — batches nearing their expiry date, where you track them.
Worked example #
You are deciding what to order before the weekend rush.
- You open the Stock report for your Sahiwal location.
- You see Corn AG 603 at 15 bags — below its alert level of 20 — flagged in the low-stock list.
- You check its stock value and recent movement, and place a purchase for 200 more bags.
- You also spot a batch nearing expiry and plan a small promotion to clear it.
What this affects #
- The report is read-only — it reflects the stock your purchases, sales, transfers and adjustments have already produced.
- Its accuracy depends on keeping those movements up to date and on correct alert quantities.
Frequently asked questions #
The report shows stock I do not physically have — why?
Something was not recorded — a sale, a transfer or damage. Reconcile with a physical count and post a Stock Adjustment.
How do I get low-stock warnings?
Set an alert quantity on each product; items at or below it appear in the low-stock list.
Can I value my stock for accounts?
Yes — the report gives a clear closing-stock value for any date.
