Quick answer: Open Combos, give the deal a name and a fixed price, then add each line as a menu item (with quantity) or as a free-text line like “1/2 Chicken Karahi”. The deal sells as one button on the POS and its full contents print on the kitchen ticket.
What is a deal or combo? #
A restaurant deal (combo) is a single item sold at a fixed price that contains several things, for example a family deal with karahi, biryani, kababs, raita, salad, roti and drinks. On the POS it is one button; on the kitchen ticket the full contents print so the kitchen knows exactly what to make.
How to create a deal (step by step) #
- Open Combos and go to Create Combo / Bundle.
- Enter the deal name and the fixed price, and pick a category (a “Deals” category keeps them together).
- Add each line, either:
- a menu item with a quantity, or
- a free-text line typed exactly as on your poster, for example “1/2 Chicken White Karahi” or “4 Regular Drink” (ideal for half portions and drinks that are not separate menu items).
- Click Create Combo. The deal appears on the POS and its lines print on the KOT.
Worked example: a family deal #
You create “Deal No. 1 (Family Deal)” at Rs 2,200 with these free-text lines: 1/2 Chicken White Karahi, 1/2 Chicken Biryani, 2 Tikka Boti, 2 Reshmi Kabab, 1 Raita, 1 Salad, 4 Roti, 4 Regular Drink. On the POS it is one button. When sold, the KOT lists every line so the kitchen plates the full deal, and the bill shows Rs 2,200.
Editing a deal #
To change a deal, delete it from the Existing Combos list and create it again with the corrected lines. The free-text box lets you reproduce any printed deal exactly.
Frequently asked questions #
Can a deal include a half portion that is not on the menu? #
Yes. Add it as a free-text line, for example “1/2 Chicken Karahi”. It prints on the KOT without needing a separate menu item.
Does selling a deal reduce stock? #
If the deal’s component items have recipes, stock is deducted from those recipes when the deal is sold.
