Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and passionate WordPress Theme Developer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating custom WordPress themes that are responsive, user-friendly, and optimized for performance. You will work closely with designers and project managers to bring design concepts to life and ensure that websites are built to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a deep understanding of WordPress theme development.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and customize high-quality, responsive, and visually appealing WordPress themes.
Build custom WordPress themes from scratch based on design files (PSD, Figma, Sketch, etc.).
Ensure that themes are fully responsive and compatible across all modern browsers and devices.
Optimize WordPress themes for speed, performance, and SEO best practices.
Work with the front-end development team to implement interactive elements using JavaScript and jQuery.
Integrate custom themes with third-party plugins, APIs, and external services.
Collaborate with designers to ensure that the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) align with client requirements.
Maintain and update existing themes to ensure compatibility with new WordPress versions.
Troubleshoot and resolve any theme-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, bugs, or compatibility problems.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and WordPress coding standards.
Stay up to date with the latest web development trends, WordPress updates, and theme development best practices.
Participate in regular team meetings, code reviews, and project planning sessions.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience in WordPress theme development.
- Proven experience creating custom WordPress themes from scratch or customizing existing themes.
- Strong understanding of WordPress core functionality and theme architecture.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Strong experience with PHP and WordPress-specific PHP functions.
- Knowledge of WordPress theme structure, hooks, filters, and template files.
- Experience with WordPress templating engines like Twig or Blade is a plus.
- Familiarity with CSS preprocessors such as Sass or LESS.
- Experience with responsive design techniques and frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.).
- Knowledge of version control tools like Git.
- Experience with SEO best practices, including HTML structure, image optimization, and schema markup.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, developers, and clients.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Expertise:

Experience:
- Experience developing themes for WooCommerce or other e-commerce platforms.
- Familiarity with page builders like Elementor or WPBakery.
- Experience integrating WordPress with third-party APIs, CRM systems, and external tools.
Certifications:
- WordPress theme development certifications or other related web development certifications are a plus.
Additional Skills:
- Experience with front-end frameworks like React or Vue.js.
- Familiarity with server-side technologies (e.g., Nginx, Apache, MySQL) and hosting platforms.
- Knowledge of best practices for website security and performance optimization.
