Job Description:
We are seeking a talented WordPress Plugins Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom WordPress plugins that enhance the functionality of our clients’ websites. You will work closely with our project managers, designers, and other developers to create high-quality plugins that meet user needs and integrate seamlessly with WordPress core and other plugins. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in PHP, WordPress, and plugin development, with a passion for delivering robust and scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins that extend functionality and improve user experience.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for WordPress plugins.
- Ensure compatibility of plugins with different WordPress versions, themes, and third-party plugins.
- Collaborate with designers, front-end developers, and back-end developers to deliver a seamless product.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or issues reported by users or testing teams.
- Conduct performance testing and optimization of plugins to ensure they run efficiently and do not affect site performance.
- Stay up to date with the latest WordPress and web development trends to implement best practices in plugin development.
- Ensure plugin security, compliance with coding standards, and overall stability.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and updates for existing plugins to ensure they remain compatible with new versions of WordPress.
- Write and maintain documentation for plugin functionality, usage, and updates.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience:
- Minimum one year of experience in WordPress plugin development.
- Proven experience with PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
- Strong experience with WordPress architecture, including themes, plugins, and custom post types.
- Experience with the WordPress REST API, custom fields, and third-party API integrations.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in PHP, including object-oriented programming (OOP).
- Experience with WordPress plugin hooks, filters, and actions.
- Familiarity with WordPress plugin development best practices and coding standards.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
- Understanding of SQL and database structure within WordPress.
- Experience with front-end technologies like JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX to enhance plugin functionality.
- Familiarity with security best practices for WordPress and plugin development.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to write clean, maintainable code.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Expertise:
- Experience:
- Experience developing plugins for eCommerce platforms like WooCommerce.
- Familiarity with popular page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery).
- Experience working with multi-site WordPress installations.
- Familiarity with building plugins for mobile optimization and responsive design.
- Certifications:
- WordPress-specific certifications (e.g., WP Development, WP Plugin Development) are a plus.
- Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue.js.
- Experience with build tools like Webpack, Gulp, or Grunt.
- Knowledge of cloud hosting services, server environments, and performance optimization (e.g., AWS, Nginx, and caching mechanisms).
